| 11/09/09 Birds of Brazil A Field Guide |
From Oxford University Press a new field guide for Brazil's
many birds. Covering the country's 1800+ birds in a format
suitable for carrying in the field is a real accomplishment;
each species gets a short (but useful) prose description,
a small (but readable) range map and a small (but helpful)
illustration. The description and map (about 20 birds per
page) are on the left and the corresponding illustrations
on the facing page. Since Brazil contains enough birding
excitement for at least 6 trips this book for $40 is a good
investment.
